Linda Hadley is a traditional dancer and proud member of the thriving folk arts community in Western Massachusetts. Based in Northampton and currently studying at UMass Amherst, Linda has dedicated herself to keeping traditional dance forms alive and accessible for new generations. Her love of dance is deeply rooted in the region’s rich cultural history, from New England contra and square dancing to the broader traditions of Celtic, Appalachian, and European folk dance.
Growing up in Massachusetts, Linda was drawn to the music, movement, and sense of connection that traditional dance fosters. Whether on the dance floor at a local hall or participating in community events, she believes in the power of dance to bring people together, celebrate cultural heritage, and create joy.
In addition to her academic pursuits, Linda is an active participant in the Pioneer Valley's music and dance scene. She can often be found at local dances, workshops, and festivals throughout the area, supporting the living traditions that have made this part of New England a hub for folk culture.
